Students will be starting to review past exams during class time to practice for the final exam on June 14th. These exams must stay in class. They have also been given an exam checklist that they are to use as a guide when making their final memory aid (1 piece of paper, double-sided), and should use their notes as well. I will do a full review of the topics starting on Wednesday, May 31st until the last day of school.
Due to school closures, all tests scheduled for Wednesday, May 10th are now postponed until further notice. When a new date is determined, information will be posted on the specific class pages. Students do not need to worry, it would be rescheduled for the following week.
Please note that the third term of the school year is worth 60% of a student's final grade in math. Also, there is a final exam that will be part of that term. This is a cumulative exam, which means that students may be tested on any concept studied during the school year.
Please note: parent-teacher interviews will take place on February 23rd, 2017 from 4:30pm - 7:00pm. However, I will only be available from 4:15pm - 5:30pm as I will be going on a field trip with students.
The mid-year exam for students in math will take place on February 2nd, 2017, from 9:30am-11:30am. Each student has received a checklist of topics tested. They should use this checklist as a guide in creating a memory aid for the exam. Calculators are also permitted.
The first term report cards will be issued to students on Tuesday, November 22nd. Parents should keep the report card itself, and then sign and return the envelope to the homeroom teacher.
The last day of the first term will be November 8th, 2016. The first parent-teacher interviews will take place on December 1st, 2016. I will be located in gym 1 that evening.
The interim report cards will be issued to all students on Tuesday, October 18th. The report will show two comments for students in this math course - one for academic performance thus far, and another for classroom behaviour.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome both students and parents to the 2016-2017 school year. As your child progresses throughout this course, you will find here important information regarding the current topics being studied, upcoming test dates and information, along with course related material.
I look forward to a successful school year!
